Bitdeer (Nasdaq: BTDR) introduced their new Sealminer A3 line on Tuesday, promising miners more terahash per watt. Sounds like they’re trying to make efficiency the new sexy. Because who doesn’t want a Bitcoin miner that cuts watts like a diet plan cuts calories, right?
Watt Watchers: Bitdeer’s A3 Line Aims Straight at Opex
According to a press release, the latest bitcoin mining rigs come in four fancy trims: two air-cooled models (A3 Air, A3 Pro Air) and two hydro-cooled beauties (A3 Hydro, A3 Pro Hydro). The star of the show? The A3 Pro Hydro, rated at a dazzling 660 terahash per second (TH/s) and sipping just 12.5 joules per terahash (J/TH). It’s built for those facilities that want to keep the heat outside-not like your oven trying to warm up your living room.
For those of you who like it air-cooled, the A3 Pro Air hits 290 TH/s with that same impressive 12.5 J/TH efficiency. The A3 Air is just a bit behind, hitting 260 TH/s at a slightly less efficient 14 J/TH. For those who want to splash a little more water around, the A3 Hydro gets 500 TH/s with 13.5 J/TH. Of course, power consumption ranges: A3 Pro Hydro needs 7,875-8,625 watts, A3 Pro Air runs on 3,250-4,000 watts, A3 Hydro demands 6,210-7,290 watts, and the A3 Air hums along with 3,360-3,920 watts.

But wait, there’s more than just speed here. Bitdeer makes sure to note that their Sealminer line also offers quieter operation and less power consumption per unit of hashrate. Translation: you’ll get the same amount of work done without waking up the entire neighborhood or burning through electricity like it’s a bonfire.
Bitdeer says these miners are perfect for big operations watching their operational expenses like a hawk. If you measure progress in racks, not rigs, then these miners are just what the doctor ordered. The A3 family runs on Bitdeer’s custom-made Seal chips, fabricated on top-tier process nodes. It’s like they’ve engineered the perfect mining machine in a lab, just to make sure you’re not wasting any precious resources.
Oh, and the cherry on top? Bitdeer is getting all vertical with this one. They’re not just in the mining game-they’ve got their hands in equipment design, logistics, data center operations across the U.S., Norway, and even Bhutan. And just for fun, they’re courting AI clients, which they’re serving with the same relentless focus on power, cooling, and silicon. Because why not?
In the world of Bitcoin mining hardware, things are heating up-quite literally. Block’s Proto miner is showing off its muscles, Bitmain is bringing in its latest beasts, and don’t even get me started on the usual suspects-Canaan, Auradine, and Microbt-who are all putting on their own parades of mining wonders.
These days, Bitcoin rigs are practically doing somersaults through terahash, with some even tipping into petahash territory, all while keeping operating costs down and trimming the fat of inefficiency. So, get ready to sweat the small stuff, because terahash is here to stay, and it’s getting leaner every day.
