Okay, so crypto. It’s…a lot. Bubblemaps, which apparently watches whatās happening “onchain” (sounds like a very specific medical procedure, doesnāt it?) has launched something called Intel Desk. Itās basically a reward system for people who find the bad guys. You know, the ones running off with your digital money. It’s like a neighborhood watch, but for people who understand blockchain. Which, letās be real, is still a small percentage of us.
Itās in beta right now, and already people are busy. Like, really busy. Today alone, they’re poking around two messes involving $UXLINK and $SFUND. Apparently, over $113 million vanished from $UXLINK’s wallet thanks to someone forgetting to lock the digital door. š¤¦āāļø Intel Desk is documenting the whole thing, which is great, because otherwise, everyone would just be yelling about it on Twitter and nothing would get solved. It’s essentially building a collective memory. Which, frankly, the crypto world desperately needs.
You know how everyone shouts warnings about scams on Twitter? Helpful, but fleeting. Like a good meme. Intel Desk wants to be the place where those warnings getā¦archived. Rated. And hopefully, *acted* upon. Because a permanent record is way better than a disappearing tweet when someone’s trying to steal your life savings.
āWeāre seeing millions of tokens launched on-chain, but the infra for verifying and investigating them hasnāt kept pace,ā said Nicolas Vaiman, founder and CEO of Bubblemaps. (Is āinfraā a real word? š¤). He basically said things are moving too fast, and trust isā¦low. Which. Mood. So they built a system. Because structured transparency is, apparently, the default now. Good luck with that.
They’re getting help from actual detectives, like ZachXBT (who I assume wears a trench coat and has a magnifying glassā¦or just really good Google skills), and regular Bubblemaps users. They’ve already spotted trouble with the Bybit hack, a guy named Hayden Davis (sounds suspicious, even without context), andā¦wait for itā¦a āHawk Tuah girl token.ā I donāt even want to know. š«£
Thereās a rating system, because obviously, internet. It sorts the good investigations from the…less good ones. It prioritizes speed, reach, and impact. Which means the first person to yell “SCAM!” gets bragging rights and rewards. Which isā¦fair, I guess.
And hereās where it gets complicated. There’s a token called $BMT. You stake it to support investigations. The more $BMT a case gets, the more attention it gets, and the bigger the reward. They’re also planning “bounty pools.” Itās crypto, so it has to be complicated. š
Basically, Intel Desk is trying to make the Wild West of crypto a little less wild. Whether that’s possible is a question for the ages. But hey, at least theyāre trying. And giving people a place to scream about scams that isnāt just my DMs. š
