A grand occasion, indeed, though one wonders if it shall rival the excitement of a ball at Netherfield.
Three live X Spaces, hosted by Ripple, shall cater to the diverse regions of EMEA, the Americas, and APAC. The eleventh of February is reserved for EMEA and the Americas, while the twelfth shall attend to the APAC region. One can only hope the connections are as reliable as Mrs. Bennet’s matchmaking schemes.
In a recent missive, RippleX has deigned to share what one may anticipate at a key segment of this event. The “XRP Features: What’s Live and What’s Next” segment shall feature the illustrious Ayo Akinyele, Head of Engineering at RippleX; the accomplished Jasmine Cooper, RippleX Head of Product; and the ingenious Mayukha Vadari, RippleX Engineer. This segment promises to unveil the latest updates on the XRP Ledger and the future prospects of XRP. The speakers shall elucidate the progress made in programmability, privacy, compliance, and the native lending protocol, and how these advancements bolster DeFi. One can only hope their explanations are clearer than a letter from Mr. Collins.
The discourse shall focus on how these features enable real applications by users, casting light on how the XRP Ledger roadmap is transforming into practical capability, while linking ongoing development directly to XRP’s expanding utility. A noble endeavor, though one suspects it may be as fraught with drama as a visit from Lady Catherine de Bourgh.
RippleX unveils focus areas for XRPL DeFi
In a recent epistle, RippleX shared an update on the XRP Ledger Institutional DeFi roadmap, which details the ledger’s progression toward everyday institutional use, with XRP at the heart of settlement, FX, collateral, and on-chain credit. A grand design, though one wonders if it shall prove as enduring as the attachment between Elizabeth and Darcy.
RippleX declared in a tweet that the focus areas this year for XRP Ledger institutional DeFi are lending, privacy, and permissioned on-chain markets. Ambitious, indeed, though one hopes they fare better than Lydia Bennet’s elopement plans.
RippleX has also revealed features that have already debuted on the XRP Ledger and those forthcoming, including Permissioned DEX, Lending Protocol (XLS-65/66), Confidential Transfers for MPTs to be released in Q1, Smart Escrows, MPT DEX Integration, and Institutional DeFi Portal. A veritable cornucopia of innovations, though one suspects they may require a tutorial as lengthy as a sermon from Mr. Collins.
Later this year, native on-ledger credit markets shall be introduced through the Lending Protocol. This protocol shall enable XRP in lending, where XRP can be both borrowed and lent, and serve as the default bridge asset in FX flows and settlement. A development as promising as a proposal from Mr. Bingley, though one hopes it does not meet with the same initial reluctance as Elizabeth Bennet’s acceptance.
