So, the Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has dropped a little teaser on Twitter, and surprise! It’s as thrilling as watching paint dry. I mean, who isn’t on the edge of their seat for something called “Midnight”? Sounds like a late-night infomercial for a product nobody asked for.
In his latest tweet, our dear Charles asked, “Who is ready for Midnight?”-because obviously, the world has been waiting with bated breath for whatever this is. To spice things up, he attached a video clip that’s longer than my last relationship-over five minutes of Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield serenading us from space. Yes, you heard that right! The guy’s floating around in zero gravity, strumming his guitar like it’s a Saturday night at the pub.

The video features Hadfield belting out David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” while gazing out at Earth. I can’t decide what’s more surreal: the view of our planet or the fact that we’re all sitting here eagerly awaiting a crypto launch that sounds like a goth nightclub.

And let’s not forget, the Cardano (whatever that is) folks are just bubbling with excitement over the Midnight mainnet launch, which still doesn’t have a date-because who needs timelines in crypto? Meanwhile, the Input Output Group tweeted something mysterious about “Midnight. This week,” like it’s a coming-of-age movie we’re all dying to see.
On March 17, they teased us again with “Midnight mainnet is getting close,” which seems like a euphemism for “We’re really trying here, folks.” And guess what? The NIGHT token decided to join the party, soaring by 12% because apparently, hype is the new black.
Midnight Network Grows
The Midnight network is expanding faster than my social media following after a particularly brave hair color change. They’ve got some fancy new federated node operators on board, including Worldpay and Bullish-because why not? Stability is important when you’re trying to navigate the chaos of crypto.
To keep everything running smoothly during the Kūkolu phase (yes, I had to Google that too), Midnight’s mainnet will feature these federated nodes, which sounds like a fancy way of saying, “We promise we’ll try not to mess this up.”
They’ve already got some big names like Google Cloud and Blockdaemon on their roster, and they decided to add Pairpoint by Vodafone and eToro in February, because if you’re going to launch a night-themed network, you might as well do it with style.
