OMG, you guys! Guess what? The mysterious Bitcoin creator, Satoshi Nakamoto, might not just be hoarding Bitcoin. According to a leaked court document from 2023, they could also be sitting on a massive pile of XRP!
Hold up, does Satoshi have XRP?
An XRP enthusiast with the Twitter handle @XrpHodL_ shared some juicy screenshots from a stenograph of a court session between the SEC and Ripple. In it, Ripple CTO and XRPL co-creator David Schwartz dropped a bombshell: he thinks Satoshi might have held a ton of XRP back in the day.
When asked about similarities between Bitcoin and XRP, Schwartz replied with a curveball: “Toshi, the original creator, probably held an enormous amount of XRP at that time.” The year mentioned was 2017, leaving everyone scratching their heads.

Is David Schwartz actually Satoshi?
The same Twitter user then shared a screenshot of an XRP community thread where user Tiffany Hayden (@haydentiff) joked that Schwartz’s comment about Satoshi and XRP went unnoticed. She then declared, “I just wanted everyone to know that you’re definitely Satoshi.” The screenshot ends there, leaving us hanging on Schwartz’s response.

Schwartz has been a top contender for being the elusive Bitcoin creator, along with Blockstream CEO Adam Back, Hal Finney, and a few others. However, he (and Back) have repeatedly denied creating Bitcoin. Schwartz did admit to working on the Bitcoin code in the early 2010s, though, adding some modifications to it.
