Meanwhile, our dear friend Ether ETFs has decided to take a rather dreary break, witnessing a rather spectacular $62 million exit stage left.
Institutional Flows Favour Bitcoin as Ether Runs Out of Puff!
On that fateful Tuesday, September 16, the winds of fortune were firmly at the back of Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). It was a glorious seventh straight day of inflows, leaving Ether ETFs with a not-so-glamorous pout. Clearly, investors are rather partial to Bitcoin whilst Ether finds itself nursing its short-lived glory.
Our beloved Bitcoin ETFs collected a lavish $292.27 million, with Blackrock’s IBIT dazzling the crowd with a whopping $209.18 million. That’s enough to make anyone jealous! Fidelity’s FBTC added a modest $45.76 million, Ark 21Shares’ ARKB strutted in with $40.68 million, and even Vaneck’s HODL couldn’t resist contributing a cheeky $7.42 million. Alas, the only stain on this otherwise charming affair was Bitwise’s BITB, which saw a rather dramatic $10.78 million departure. But fret not, trading remains lively at $2.95 billion, boosting our net assets to a rather extravagant $153.78 billion.
As for Ether, well, it did a rather splendid belly flop into the pool of misfortune, ending its five-day inflow stint with a staggering $61.74 million cascade of outflows. Fidelity’s FETH led this inglorious retreat with a dramatic $48.15 million exit, closely followed by Blackrock’s ETHA waving goodbye with a $20.34 million farewell. Even Bitwise’s ETHW tried to play the hero with a $6.75 million lifeline, but alas, it was a rather weak show. Total value traded for Ether ETFs was a subdued $1.70 billion, with net assets stubbornly at $29.60 billion.
As Bitcoin continues to charm the wallets of institutional investors, Ether seems to be taking a rather extended coffee break.
