World Liberty Financial – catchy! – announced this WLFI token is now officially “launching” on Ethereum. I put “launching” in quotes because it feels a bit dramatic for a digital thing.
It started as just a voting token, which, honestly, is a pretty low bar. Like, “Congratulations, you can now digitally raise your hand!” But now? Now it’s *entering open circulation*. Which sounds suspiciously like a fancy way of saying people can actually trade it. And potentially lose all their money. Just sayin’.
The big moment is September 1st, 2025. Mark your calendars! (Or don’t. I’m not your mom.) Trading starts at noon UTC. Only 20% of the tokens will be usable at first which is kind of like saying “Here’s a car, but you only get to drive it one day a week.” The rest are being held hostage by “community governance” and “vesting schedules.” So… democracy, but for crypto. 🤷
Apparently, people *voted* to make this thing tradable. Which is amazing, because usually nobody votes for things that might make their investment go down. But hey, maybe they’re optimists! Or they’re hoping to get rich quick and buy a gold toilet. No judgment.
They also have a $1.5 billion “crypto-treasury.” Which just sounds… enormous. And slightly concerning. It’s like they’re trying to knit a sweater out of money.
